Sasso del Ferro/1062 m

Peace over Sasso del Ferro, while a storm rages over the lake

Sasso del Ferro is a small but sulky rock with a sheer drop to the gulf of Laveno Mombello. The ascent up to its summit along an ancient mule track is without doubt the toughest around the Maggiore Lake. Let the numbers speak: with an average gradient of 18% and some sections at more than 25%, most of which on bumpy ground, this climb is a true Calvary, on which even the lightest bike will turn into a dreadfully heavy cross. Challenge it only if you have great sins to expiate!
