Alpe di Trecciura/1160 m

The descent through the wide pastures of Monti di Vira

On the woody northern slopes of Mount Tamaro there are some enchanting grassy oasis that were created by man during the past centuries. Cabins, pastures and trails are admirable examples of the perseverance and the toughness of the farmers that many years ago conquered the mountains in search of new land. A Swiss version of the American conquest of the west, but in another direction: upwards.

This tour takes you up to Alpe di Trecciura following Alpe di Neggia's cement road. The descent takes place on relatively smooth single-tracks, but still good technical skills are required to overcome all of the obstacles.
