Virtual landscapes

Virtual landscapes are Quicktime images in which you can move with the help of the mouse. Using zoom buttons you can also zoom in and out. The nicest views are marked with a .

Requirements: QuickTime 3.0 or later.
 
Chüebodenhorn - 171 KB Astonishing 360 degrees view from Chüebodenhorn Peak over Ticino's glaciers. Behind the pole that marks the summit there is the magnificient Rotondo Peak; on the right the Bedretto Valley, then the Chüebodengletcher; on the left the Uri mountains.
Corona dei Pinci - 119 KB Summer sunset on Maggiore Lake as seen from Corona dei Pinci. On the left you can see Locarno and Ascona threatened by the shade, while on the opposite side of the lake the Gambarogno villages enjoy the last rays of sun. On the right Cannobio is also getting ready for the night.
Gazzirola - 167 KB View over Sopraceneri and Sottoceneri from Mount Gazzirola's grassy summit. In the middle you can see the Maggiore Lake, while on the right Mount Camoghè hides Piano di Magadino. On the left, past the sign, you can see the Colla Valley with the Lugano Lake on the background. Further on there is the Cavargna Valley and a slice of Como Lake.
Gradiccioli - 172 KB 360 degrees view from Mount Gradiccioli, on the crest that divides Lugano from Luino. Over the fence the Vedeggio Valley leads to Lugano Lake. Further right, past the crest that reaches Mount Lema, you can see the Maggiore Lake. On the opposide side of the crest there is Mount Tamaro.
Gridone - 149 KB Centovalli, Cannobina Valley and some nice mountain peaks as seen from Mount Gridone. The Centovalli are on the left, below the shining rocks of Peak Ruscada. Following the river, on the right, you get to Locarno and the Maggiore Lake, that showes up behind a steep crest. On the opposite side, in the bright October light, a small valley that leads down to Cannobio.
Cima della Laurasca - 172 KB A 360 degrees view from Cima della Laurasca over the Val Grande National Park. In the middle you can see the small Lago del Marmo. On the right first you meet the narrow crest that leads to Cimone di Cortechiuso, then the crest that goes thorough Cima di Campo, and finally the Cimone di Straolgio, a bulky peak that indicates the borders of the National Park.
Cima di Medeglia - 214 KB Sponsored by my friend Marzio, a nice 360 degrees panorama from Cima di Medeglia. Looking on the right, you see the Maggiore Lake embraced by the first snowy mountains, then the Magadino Plain, and finally Mount Camoghè, the high snowy peak that marks the border of Sopracenery. Further on the right the landscape is overlooked by the Sottocenery hills. Behind them you can see the Ceresio Lake.
Pizzo d'Orgnana - 153 KB A look at the peaks of Vallemaggia (on the left) and Verzasca (on the right) as seen from Pizzo d'Orgnana. On the South the Maggiore Lake is covered with autumn fog.
Motto della Tappa - 181 KB Lights and shades on Motto della Tappa. On the left the wide pastures of the Cavargna Valley; on the right the woody valleys that head dpwn to Bellinzona, on the north.

Pizzo Vogorno - 169 KB

A 360 degrees twist on top of Pizzo di Vogorno, to go from the quiet Maggiore Lake waters to the vertical Verzasca Valley crests. On the left the lonesome Carecchio Valley with its vertical walls; on the right some smaller mountains that plunge into the Vogorno and Maggiore lakes.

Monte Zeda - 107 KB

 

 

Enchanting look from the west side of Mount Zeda covered with a dusting of snow. On the left you can see Mount Vadà, then on the right, after a chain of foggy mountains that lie on the other side of the lake, you can see Peak Marona and Mottarone.
