Winter 2003-2004
The muffled songs of the cuckoo and the gurgling of the streams that awoke from the long freeze bring an announcement that nature has long been waiting for: the cold season is over, and life can spring up again.
Before diving into the warm summer's embrace, here's a small picture gallery to recall last winter, that gave us many unforgettable days filled with snow and sun...

October
In October the snow already shows up on the mountains. In Bosco Gurin the pastures get kissed the last time from the weak autumn sun before being covered with a thick snow mantle that will be a great delight to skiers and snowboarders... and some bikers too...

November
The mountains put their winter coat on, and turn into beautiful but dangerous queens. This picture shows some of the mountains that crown the Formazza Valley.

December
Right after Christmas the snows comes down to the plains too, causing many troubles to the roads and forcing people to stay at home and look out of the windows...

January
The snow piles up and everything fades into a magical silence. The peaks, the woods and the mountain lakes become yearned destinations for trekkers and mountaineers. This picture shows a cabin near the Mognola Lake.

February
Even on the bottoms of the valleys the snow keeps falling. This is a good chance to discover enchanted places, like Da l'Ovi in Giumaglio, without sweating too much.

March
Springtime is here, but the mountains are still caught in winter's embrace. This picture shows some birches in Arnau begging the sky for the end of the winter.

April

In April the sun becomes braver, and slowly the snow starts melting away. Taking advantage of the nice springtime weather, you can go on unforgettable journeys, like the Stella Pass, and carve the last signatures into the steep snowy slopes.
