In spite of the black clouds that
crowded up around the Casvegno park, the 9th edition of the 24 hours race
of Mendrisio was blessed with good weather, and many spectators came to
clap their hands to the 830 bikers that ran on the 6 kilometers long track
all through the night.
Pain painted onto Christian Paparelli's face, who did lead the extreme
no limits class for many laps. Behind him a biker of the Immoprogramm
team, which finished in 6th position
At the end of the 24 hours the first ones to pass the line were the 6
racers of the Porta Verde team, who did cover a distance of over 580
kilometers.
Sorlenghia Team got second place, just 9 minutes behind, while Bici Bike
93 got third place. |
| In the extreme no limits class
(individual race), Reto Pezzoli got first place for the second year in a
row. Renato Crivelli, for the first time in Mendrisio, got second place,
while Christian Paparelli, the winner of the 2002 edition, finished his
effort at the third place.
